The Riar are a humanoid species native to the planet Riar Prime.
In 2389, the Riar government banned any form of literary, artistic and musical forms of expression. When groups began to protest this, they began to find and execute anyone who disagreed with them, calling them criminals. Eventually, several thousand Riar left their homeworld, taking with them cultural data regarding their species. Eventually, the dissidents were given a home in Terran Federation space and the art was recreated and held in the Delphi Museum of Culture on Caprica and the New Smithsonian Museum on Rhea.
